about

In the musical stylings of Sufjan Stevens & Iron and Wine, this is a capturing of the heart and message of Psalm 107, a psalm that fleshes out this verse: "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." - Joel 2:32, Romans 10:13, & Acts 2:21

God's salvation is far more generous than any of us can understand. He saves anyone who asks to be saved? Incredible.

Psalm 107 spoke to me very dramatically when I read it. I was reading about me. It spoke of my loneliness, rebellion, and subsequent depression. And to think God is so loving and merciful that when we call out to him to rescue us, he does.

lyrics

REDEEMED
{Psalm 107}

I’ve wandered for years, in the desert,
lost and homeless
Searching for somewhere,
where I can find some rest
In this desperate place,
Lord, I’m seeking your face
I cry out to you

Then you saved me from my, distress and trouble
You lifted me high, above darkness and gloom
I’m no longer left, with just ashes and rubble
I’m no longer chained, to a sentence of doom

Locked in a dark cell, feeling lost and lonely
The cold of the steel bars, with my heart so heavy
Not a soul in sight, not a ray of light
Then I called out to you

I thank God for his marvelous love
For his miracle mercy to the ones that he loves
He’s so good, he satisfies my soul
He’s so good, he satisfies my soul
He’s so good, he satisfies my soul
